Safer Routes in Communities
 Safer Routes in Communities is an initiative which promotes road safety and sustainability. By working with community members and schools to design traffic calming measures, provide road safety education and encourage more cycling and walking to schools; health, safety and environmental issues will all be addressed.
The project has a consultation and planning phase of one year, following which measures will be put in place throughout the community. Whilst this process is a long one, it is hoped that the outcomes will be long lasting and effective. I am also always available to provide continuing support to existing local groups and to aspiring new ones. I am currently working on accessing volunteer training and funding for two groups in the community, please let me know if your group needs any training.
It is also part of my role to access services that are lacking within the area; services such as the Swansea Drugs Project and Mentro Allan have contacted me with a view to becoming active here. Please let me know if there is a service, facility or activity that you think the community needs access to. Working with community members and partner organisations is key to my role and is something that I very much look forward to being involved in within the community of Clase and Caemawr.
