The View
The View
is a successful volunteer led community house that has a number of activities for the community running throughout the week including a food cooperative that has over 50 regular customers.
The View
is run by local volunteers who are already well known in the Clase and Caemawr area. The volunteers there are: Christine Price, Violet Davies, Jackie Thomas, Sue Spencer (Vandenburg), Sue Francis, Julie Clarke, Carol Lewis, Stacey Bennett, Sam Lewis, and Hayley Trott. These women do a great job keeping the View up and running but there is always room for more help. If you have an hour or two to spare in the day times, come along and join in, maybe lend a hand, but also have some company, a fun time, even if you only call in for a tea / coffee and a chat the door is open to all, you will be made welcome at any time, even if only for ten minutes call in and say ‘hi’ and experience some of what goes on in the View. You may be surprised at what you experience there. Take a Food at the View chance, come and see us anytime.
Stitch & Bitch
is being held at the View on Thursdays at 11.30am where you can learn to use a knitting machine, learn to crochet or hand knit. There will be advisors on hand to help you. You can also sell what you make through the View for a small fee. All are welcome, just phone or call in on this day and you will be made welcome. Christine and Carol will be able to help you from the beginning to the end with any article made by yourselves. Refreshments are available and of course the chin-wag is free. If you need to have any alterations to clothing etc that you need this can be done on this day by Jackie for a small fee, who will also be willing to show you how to use machines etc yourself.

Courses at The View
There is a Maths course being held every Thursday at the View at 9.30am – 11.00am, taught by Swansea College. If you are interested in attending please contact the View. The course is fun and Ruth Benson the teacher is a lot of fun to spend two hours with. Even though you are working to achieve qualifications, Ruth makes learning enjoyable. There is no fee for this course and refreshments are available. It doesn’t matter what level you are at we all
work together and help each other, so if you just want to refresh your memory or do some serious studying come along and join us. This course is open for all ages from 16 to 60, and believe me there is a mix of ages already there but we all have fun together. Other courses will be available soon.
